Hello, and compliments of the season!
It’s been a whirlwind of a year, hasn’t it? Between work, year-end chaos, and everything, I’ve barely had time to pen down my thoughts. But that’s behind us (at least for a few weeks), and I’m back to share another edition of “Nothing or Something.”
First, let me thank you. Yes, you—the one who reads, comments, and shares my posts. Your support means the world to me. May the Almighty bless and enrich you abundantly. You’re the reason I keep going.
Today, I’m not writing about anything specific. Instead, I want to encourage you, and in doing so, encourage myself too. As the year draws to a close, reflecting on our growth is natural. But too often, we focus on what we didn’t achieve, forgetting to celebrate all we did.
Give Yourself Some Credit
This year has been tough—economically, emotionally, and in so many other ways. But look at you. You navigated through storms and overcame challenges, and here you are. That’s no small feat.
Think about those moments when you thought you wouldn’t make it but did. That’s genius-level resilience right there. So, give yourself a pat on the back. And here’s a tip for next year:
- Get a “win jar.” Every day, write down at least one accomplishment, big or small, and drop it in the jar. This time next year, read them all. You’ll be amazed at how much you achieved.
Let’s break the cycle of replaying our cringe-worthy moments while forgetting our triumphs. Next year, we’ll flip that script.
Forgive Yourself
Whatever mistakes you’ve been beating yourself up about—it’s time to let them go. It’s often easier to forgive others than ourselves, but self-forgiveness is the key to peace. So, start now.
Choose Your Circle Wisely
This year, my friends were my rock. They lifted me up, encouraged me, and helped me rediscover myself. Surround yourself with people who see the best in you. Life is too short for toxic relationships. Protect your mental health, and don’t hesitate to cut off anyone who threatens it.
That’s my brief message for today. You’ve done amazing this year, and I’m so proud of you. I’m back to writing more frequently now, so stay tuned for more. Keep reading, keep sharing, and as always, may the Almighty bless you.
Your friend,
K. Nakamoto
