ARE WE ALONE HERE?
Hello once again, dear readers. Thank you for consistently reading, commenting, and sharing my articles. Your support means a lot to me, and I’m grateful. May the Almighty bless you.
I know I promised to continue the Great City Series in my last post, but I’ve been under the weather with a fever these past few days. I promise to pick that up soon. For now, I have something a little different—just a piece of my late-night musings.
I often find myself sitting outside my house at strange hours—1 AM, 2 AM, 3 AM—staring at the night sky. It’s no secret that I tend to overthink, and in those quiet, lonely hours, I wonder: are we alone? Is there another world out there, just like ours? Sometimes, the stillness gives me chills, and I can't shake the feeling that perhaps, just perhaps, we’re not as alone as we think.
Growing up in the late 90s and early 2000s, I heard countless tales—stories of jinns, familiar spirits (or what the Yoruba people call "emere"), market spirits, and even talking animals. As a child, I believed them all. But as I grew older, I began to dismiss those tales, writing them off as childhood fantasies. That was until I started delving back into African culture and heritage as an adult. I realized how deeply our ancestors had engaged with the metaphysical world. Though we might not have explored space or built advanced technologies, we’ve tapped into the unseen—more so, perhaps, than many other cultures. My upbringing in a Christ Apostolic Church and as a Mountain of Fire Youth only deepened this belief.
But here's the thing—those beings we speak of aren’t strangers; they are part of our world. We coexist, and they’ve been woven into the fabric of our reality for generations. Yet, I also believe there are other, truly alien entities—creatures not of this Earth, not even on NASA's or RSA’s radar. What if they walk among us, blending in seamlessly, having learned our language and customs, possibly even holding positions of power?
Why do I say this? There are mysteries that defy logical explanation—like sudden shifts in the weather, from a blazing sun to a cool, gentle breeze, and then back to the heat, all within moments. Some may chalk it up to climate change, but what if it’s something else? What if it's an invisible starship touching down, beyond our perception?
And what about those unexplainable sensations we sometimes feel—an odd pressure in the head, a chill down the spine, a wave of déjà vu? Scientists might tell you it’s just your brain playing tricks, but what if these experiences are the subtle presence of beings from beyond?
I also can't accept that Earth is the only inhabited planet in this vast universe. There’s got to be more—maybe even parallel universes, with civilizations mirroring our own. It might take thousands or even millions of years, but I truly believe we’ll eventually make contact. The universe is just too expansive for us to be alone.
Remember, these are just my thoughts—late-night ideas that come to me in the quiet hours. None of this is proven; it's purely my speculation.
Thank you for joining me for another episode of my musings. Your support keeps me going.
Until next time,
Your friend,
K. Nakamoto
